Tools - Sales, Shipping & Returns
Last updated: November 2026
This page covers the light-painting tools we design and make in Adelaide: the Walkback Scanner, Scan A Beam, Gates, Blades and future tools. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
Made by hand, to order
We 3D print each tool in PETG and finish it by hand in South Australia; most are printed on demand after you order. We pre-assemble every tool in our workshop before dispatch to test fit and check quality. Small layer lines, slight colour variation and minor surface marks are a normal part of the process, not defects.
Check fitment before you buy
Our tools fit specific torch head diameters. Please check your torch against the Torch Selector Chart before ordering. If you're unsure, email us your torch make and model, and we'll confirm the fit.
If a tool doesn't fit your torch, contact us before modifying or forcing it. We'll work with you to get the right fit, usually by making and sending an adjusted adaptor. If your torch isn't on the chart, tell us before you order, and we'll do our best to make an adaptor to suit.
Walkback Scanner supports
Walkback supports are deliberately a tight fit, so they stay firm as they wear in. Your scanner has already been assembled once here as part of our fit and quality check, so the parts do go together. Take care when assembling, especially while the parts are new: line them up and press them together carefully rather than forcing them to avoid breaking a support. Replacement supports are available. Please contact us first so we can send the right part.
Prices
All prices are in Australian dollars. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is included or charged. Postage and any prepaid import duty are combined into one shipping charge, shown in the cart before you pay. Shipping is charged at cost, and any overcharge is refunded to the nearest dollar once your order ships and Zonos invoicing is reconciled. Payment provider fees or charges for processing that refund may be deducted.
Dispatch and delivery
Most tools are printed on demand, so dispatch times vary with the print queue. We make every effort to fast-track printing, packing and shipping, and we'll email you if your order will take longer than 14 business days to dispatch. Tools ship from Adelaide with Australia Post, with tracking.
Australia: usually 2–7 business days after dispatch. No import duty.
United States: usually 7–14 business days after dispatch. Import duty is prepaid by us and included in your shipping charge, so there's nothing to pay on delivery.

Germany: usually 7-14 business days after dispatch. Import duty and tax are prepaid by us and included in your shipping charge.
United Kingdom: usually 7-14 business days after dispatch. [Prepaid by us for orders under £135 / Paid by you on delivery — confirm before publishing.]
Other countries: usually 7-20 business days after dispatch. Import duty and tax are paid by you on delivery, and your carrier may add a handling fee.
Delivery times are estimates, and customs can add delays. Once your parcel is dispatched, it's at our risk until it is delivered to the address you gave us. If it's lost or arrives damaged, tell us, and we'll replace it or refund you. Please double-check your address: we can't be responsible for parcels sent to an incorrect address you entered. If a parcel is returned to us for that reason, we'll resend it when you pay the postage.
Change-of-mind returns
You may return an unused tool within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price, if it's in resaleable condition and in its original packaging. Email hello@bendwoods.com first, and we'll send the return address. You pay return postage, and original shipping and prepaid duties are not refunded. We refund within 5 business days of receiving the return.
Customers in the EU and UK: you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. Tell us by email within that period and return the goods within 14 days after that. We refund the item price and the standard outbound shipping within 14 days of receiving the goods back. You pay return postage.
Change-of-mind returns don't apply to custom or personalised tools made to your specification.
Faulty tools and your consumer rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
If a tool breaks, cracks or doesn't work as described, email us a photo and your order number. We'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund and cover reasonable return postage. Overseas customers also keep the consumer rights of their own country.
Our 12-month warranty against defects
On top of your consumer rights, we warrant that our tools will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from delivery.
Covered: cracking, layer separation, broken clips or mounts, and parts that fail under normal use.
Not covered: normal wear, drops or crushing, modification, breakage from forcing parts together during assembly, and heat damage from leaving the tool on a hot torch or in a hot car. PETG can soften at around 70°C.
How to claim: email hello@bendwoods.com within the warranty period with your order number and a photo of the problem. We may ask you to return the tool.
What we do: we repair or replace the tool or refund you if that isn't possible. We cover reasonable return postage for a valid claim. You pay any other costs of making the claim.
Warrantor: Ben D Woods Photography, ABN [ABN], PO Box 7, Modbury North SA 5093, hello@bendwoods.com.
The benefits of this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under the law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.

Check that the tool is firmly attached before moving the torch.
Don't point high-output torches or beams into anyone's eyes or at vehicles or aircraft.
Take care of footing when light painting in the dark.
